DaVinci Shake and Slate. Professionally Installed.
Durable and Beautiful DaVinci Slate and Shake
DaVinci Roofscapes introduced its synthetic slate tiles in 2004, and since then has quickly become one of the largest and most respected manufacturers of synthetic slate and composite shake shingles in the United States. DaVinci Roofscapes’ goal was to produce a shingle that matches the beauty of authentic slate and cedar shake without the price tag and the constant maintenance that comes along with them. Odyssey Roofing believes that DaVinci has succeeded at this goal and has produced the best synthetic slate and composite shake on the market – we are proud to partner with DaVinci Roofscapes to offer you the option of having this beautiful material installed on your roof.
Slate or Shake?
DaVinci shingles may be some of the most durable and long-lasting of their kind, however aesthetics is one of the main reasons homeowners are drawn to a DaVinci roof replacement. There are two shingle style options to choose from, slate or shake, each of which comes in three different tile profiles – Belaforte, Single-Width, and Multi-Width. DaVinci shingles are designed to look exactly like actual slate tiles and cedar shake. DaVinci cedar shake shingles have natural grain patterns and grooves to mimic the look of real wood cedar shake, while DaVinci slate shingles are molded from actual slate tiles and even have chisel marks to make them look authentic. The Belaforte has the widest profile and its panels are uniform – it is also the most cost effective of all the DaVinci options. The Single-Width panels also have a uniform pattern, however the panels are placed in a way to look smaller and tighter than the Belaforte. Finally, the Multi-Width panels are completely non uniform, mixing small and large panels for a unique look – they are also the most costly of the DaVinci options. These differences in profiles are shown at the bottom of the page in thorough detail.
How Long Does a DaVinci Roof Last?
One of the best features of DaVinci shingles is the durability that comes with their advanced polymer construction. DaVinci shingles have a Class 4 impact rating and a Class A fire rating – both of which are the highest rating roofing materials can obtain. The high impact resistance rating means that DaVinci slate will not suffer from the brittleness that comes naturally due to the weight of natural slate, and the unique polymer construction means that DaVinci shake will not be subject to curling, cracking, or rotting that is common among cedar shake when not constantly treated and maintained. In short, DaVinci slate and shake shingles are some of the longest-lasting luxury roofing materials on the market, and are backed by the best warranty for synthetic and composite roofing materials on the market.
Energy Efficient and Environmentally Friendly
Davinci shingles are part of a new generation of roofing shingles that have been developed with an eye toward the environmental impact of reproduced materials in heavy manufacturing. While most synthetic or composite shingles tend to be made of recycled plastics and rubber, making them difficult or impossible to recycle again, DaVinci roofing materials are made out of engineered polymer – they are 100% recyclable and can be returned to the Lenexa, Kansas plant where they are manufactured at any time for recycling. Not only does the composition of the material used produce a more environmentally friendly product – but the fact that trees are not being cut down to produce cedar shake and the fuel-intensive quarrying process of natural slate is avoided in themselves are a tremendous boon to ecosystems everywhere.
Cost Effective Luxury
While a DaVinci roof replacement will be more expensive than asphalt shingle options, it is quite a savings compared to natural slate or cedar shake. This is even more true after the price of wood – and hence cedar shake – skyrocketed during the COVID supply problems of the early 2020’s. Like every roof replacement project, the cost of a DaVinci roof replacements will vary in price with the steepness of your roof, the complexity of your roofs cuts and valleys, and also the type of profile chosen. Belaforte profiles are the most cost-effective DaVinci option, while Multi-Width is the most expensive. Prices can range anywhere from $15 a square foot for simple roofs and wider profiles up to $30 a square foot for more complicated roofs and thinner profiles.
