Replacement Slider Window Glass and Screen Options
Double Pane glass windows have two panes of standard low thermal emissivity – also known as Low-E – glass separated by a spacer. The pocket between the two panes of glass is filled with argon gas and sealed to be air tight. Argon gas is a non-toxic, naturally occurring gas which acts as an insulator – argon gas is heavier than air and displaces the air between the glass panes. This is the standard package offered at Odyssey Windows.
Triple Pane glass windows have all the standard benefits of Double Pane windows. However, they also have an extra layer of thermal protection. They are much more energy efficient, stronger, and durable than their Double Pane counterpart – they can obtain U-Factors below .20, which Double Pane windows cannot. Triple pane glass is recommended in regions with extremely hot or cold temperatures.
Obscure Glass – Available with double-pane and triple-pane glass packages. Obscure glass, more commonly known as “privacy glass, ” has a pattern embedded into its surface, making it difficult to see through. The two most popular styles of obscure glass are gluechip and raindrop. Recommended uses: private offices, bathroom windows, and any rooms you want privacy.
Tempered Glass – Available with double pane, triple pane, and our Sound Barrier glass packages. Tempered glass undergoes compression during its formation, making it five times stronger than conventional window glass. Tempered glass is much more difficult to break, but if it does break, it will break into smaller, less jagged pieces for your safety. Recommended uses: bathrooms near showers or bathtubs and windows less than 3 feet off the ground.
Half Screens – Half screens come standard with all Double Hung and Sliding windows. Half screens only cover one sash at a time and are adjustable. Half screens allow you to get more light through one window pane, giving a better outside view. They do not provide the same level of protection as Full Screens.
Full Screens – Full screens come standard with all Casement and Awning windows; however, they are an upgrade option for Double Hung and Sliding windows. Full screens provide complete coverage for your window – allowing you to vent both the top and bottom sash of your double-hung window simultaneously without worrying about insects getting inside – however, they cover the entire window and let less light in.
Energy Efficient Glass
Our replacement slider windows come with multiple coatings of Low-E glass, allowing our windows to exceed energy star qualifications and letting you keep your home at your desired temperature in every season.
Reinforced Welded Frame
Odyssey Windows have fusion-welded frames and only use 100% authentic vinyl - never recycled plastic - for enhanced strength and durability.

Every installer on our team is licensed, insured, and trained in installing our replacement windows to ensure a perfect finished product for your home.
